Westminster Enterprise Network celebrated its annual Westminster Inclusion and Diversity (WINC) Festival with three events at the beginning of November.

WINC Festival celebrates and champions diversity and inclusion in the business industry. The festival showcases Westminster’s commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion within the Westminster Business School, with case studies exemplifying people who are engaging in active advocacy, action and enjoying success despite facing adversity.  The festival aims to inspire the next generation of business leaders by showing that they can achieve their goals, no matter what challenges they may face.

The festival began with the first event called Thrive as a Woman Founder or Freelancer. This event explored how women are currently represented in the Enterprise sector and different mindset techniques that helped speakers, including Sam Hornsby, Co-Founder at Eric; Kaye Smith, Co-Founder at Zen Project; and Michelle De Leon, CEO  of World Afro Day, achieve their goals.

The second event, called Representation and Equality in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, discussed the current state of representation and equality in the sector and showed the positive effect they both have. The speakers, including Swakara Atwell-Bennett, Founder at Better Shared; Audrey Limery, CEO and Founder at Kweevo; and Saphia Haddouche, Marketing Consultant, shared their personal journeys, practical tips and best practices to encourage more diverse talent to enter into the Enterprise sector.

The final event, called Your Unique Self: Defining Your Personal Brand, explored how students can use current and future digital platforms to create their mark online. Speakers included Meera Kumara, Freelance Content Development Exec; Anoop Randerwala, Award Winning Creative; and Nicola Millington, Founder at FP Comms. They discussed the importance of networking and why it is important to embrace self-branding.

Westminster Enterprise Network would like to thank all of the inspirational guest speakers for their help, expert insight and encouragement.
