Three economics students attended the International Forum for Students and Young Researchers.

Postgraduate students Emira Kockici (Applied Economics MSc), Oxana Novikova and Lukasz Cerazy (both International Business Economics MSc), supported by WBS, recently took part in an International Forum for Students and Young Researchers in Ukraine. The Forum, entitled Widening our Horizons, was held at the National Mining University in Dnipropetrovsk.

Oxana writes: “Getting there was quite an adventure as ours was the second flight departing to Kiev from London over a several day flight-free period caused by the volcanic ash, although it was delayed, causing us to miss the last train to Dnipropetrovsk and consequently the beginning of the conference. However we were still given a chance to make our presentations. This was followed by a concert, organised by the local students, who turned out to be not only bright students, but also talented dancers, singers, actors, etc.”

Lukasz adds: “Overall it was a great experience and a successful one too as we got our articles published and took home a prize.”  Lukasz won the prize for best article and presentation in Economics.
