Dr Richard Barbrook, Senior Lecturer in Politics, was recently interviewed by Russia Today on the current state of Brexit and the possibility of extending it even if a deal is reached before the date.
Talking about the Government’s offer to struggling communities, Dr Barbrook said they were 30 or more years ‘too late’.
He said: “The conservative party can’t agree among itself about a sensible and pragmatic policy on Europe, which is why we had the referendum and why we’ve had the mess for the last two and a half years. They don’t have a plan to leave which they can all unite upon.”
Commenting on the possibility of extending Brexit for a couple of weeks as proposed by the Foreign Secretary, he concluded: “My feeling is that sooner or later we are going to end up with no Brexit as the least worse option.”
