The article discusses how Prince Harry has spoken of the secret collusion between the press and the monarchy in his memoir, alleging that members of his family would leak unflattering stories about Meghan Markle to certain newspapers in return for more positive coverage of themselves.

Professor Barnett suggests that these revelations may push the monarchy into becoming more transparent. He said: “He [Prince Harry] has done us a favour in exposing the collusive nature, the conspiratorial nature of relationships between the royal family and the British press. They will have to change the way in which they do business with the press. And that’s a good thing. It’s a good thing for the monarchy and it’s a good thing for British society.’’
