Alex Sinclair and Guy Osborn had a chapter entitled ‘The Poacher turned Gamekeeper: James Ferman and the increasing intervention of the law’ published in the BBFC/British Film Institute book commissioned to celebrate the centenary of the BBFC.

The chapter charts the period 1975-1982 and covers the early years of James Ferman’s tenure at the BBFC, interestingly James Ferman has previously written for the Law School publication, Polytechnic Law Review, and taught at the Polytechnic in the 1970s. See here the news story about the exhibition, including a slide show of some of the exhibits,  that we curated at our Regent Street site that covers Ferman’s time at the University. The book has been well received so far, and was reviewed on the BBC 2 The Review Show.
