Menswear MA graduate Robyn Lynch presented as part of this year’s Fashion East London Fashion Week Mens (LFWM) show, establishing a signature sharp and playful take on her Irish menswear heritage. It was her debut show since graduating from Westminster in 2018.

Inspired by her father’s style and footage of the Dublin Games, her collection aimed to enlighten the familiar. Wearability and precision characterised her work as she re-imagined casual pieces and continued to work with block colours, this time blue, white and green.

Liliana Sanguino Ramirez, Course Leader for the Menswear MA, said: “Robyn’s latest collection represents a hugely successful follow up from her graduation, her identity as a designer goes from strength to strength and we are all extremely proud of her first show. I feel certain that this is the beginning of an exciting and fruitful career for her.”

Born in Dublin, she inspired her brand on her Irish heritage, particularly the use of technical knits. Her aesthetic is comfortable, traditional and tonal. Robyn has held roles at Phoebe English and Cottweiler, whom also presented at LFWM.

On its 13th edition, the London Fashion Week Mens took place on 5-7 January in the Old Truman Brewery in East London. It included over 40 designer businesses showcasing their collections for Autumn/Winter 2019.

Fashion East helps designers with business mentoring, financial support and opportunities to show their label. Established in 2000, it is a menswear incubator and showcase scheme that nurtures designers. It has helped renowned figures like Jonathan Anderson, Craig Green, Martine Rose, Grace Wales Bonner, Charles Jeffrey and Kim Jones.
