Dr Gillian S Forrester, Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Science and Technology,  joins anatomy experts on BBC's two part series Dissected, starting at 9pm, Tuesday 18 February on BBC4.

Dr Forrester's research investigates what types of behaviours are biased to one side of the body in order to better understand which cognitive tasks/processes are guided by each hemisphere of the brain.

In the programme, Dr Forrester, a Cognitive Behavioural Neuroscientist, is interviewed by scientist and TV presenter, Dr George McGavin.

According to Dr Forrester, understanding patterns of lateralized behaviour can help better understand neural processing in the brain. As a result, it may be possible to target poorly lateralized individuals at risk of cognitive delays and/or disorders, as well as influencing approaches to work, study and clinical environments in order to limit heightened stress.

Watch Dr Forrester at 9pm, 18 Feburary and discover the hand dissected.
