'The community' is fast becoming a central discourse in flood mitigation, disaster planning and resilience policy. Given the growing significance of the flooding issue and the ascendancy of the community discourse in current UK policy, Liza's research will explore the benefits and limitations of a community-focused approach to flooding and assess whether it will help or hinder resilience in actual, 'lived communities' in Britain.
