If you're an aspiring writer, you're likely familiar with this scenario: You eagerly prepare to put pen to paper, whether it's the pages of a new Moleskine notebook or the glow of your laptop screen. Your chosen beverage, be it a Diet Coke or hibiscus tea, is at hand. And then, a void descends.

You find yourself staring at the unforgiving emptiness of the blank page, contemplating the myriad pathways that might lead to an inspiring story. Yet, for a while, not a single word graces the canvas of your imagination.

As writers, words are our tools, our medium for expressing the myriad thoughts and emotions that course through our minds. We strive to convey our messages with both precision and artistry.

If you've ever experienced this peculiar form of creative paralysis, we extend an invitation to our Writer's Block Party. Whether you spell it "Writers' Block" or "Writer's Block," it doesn't matter; you're warmly welcomed.

As part of our university-wide Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiative, we're reaching out to writers from marginalized backgrounds. Join us for an experimental workshop that blends the written word with music, culinary delights, and enlightening speakers. Here, you'll have the opportunity to breathe life into that novel idea or craft a few verses of poetry.

We hope that you'll leave a little lighter, having set those words free.

Please gather with us at Soho Poly at 3pm. Everyone is invited to share in this creative journey.
