We invite you to join us for a festive gathering, where we hope you'll find a home away from home, a community of shared beliefs and a feeling of togetherness.

Hanukkah is the Jewish Festival of Lights. The word "Hanukkah" means "dedication" in Hebrew. It celebrates a miracle that happened in Jerusalem over 2000 years ago. The celebration marks the fifth day of Hanukkah.

In the spirit of cross-cultural learning and the promotion of diversity and inclusivity, this celebratory event is open to all. We welcome colleagues, students, friends and families from all faiths and none.

Expect to immerse yourself in a diverse and vibrant community. We'll come together to celebrate diversity, foster connections and explore cultures with the goal of creating a more respectful world for everyone.

We'll also play dreidel and taste latkes, sufnaniyot and other dishes.

Hosted by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Employability and Global Engagement) and the Co-Chair of the University's EDI Committee, in partnership with Westminster Jewish Society, this event is a significant component of the University's commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
