We are pleased to announce our second production. Our play is inspired by the story of a female war participant in Bangladesh’s War of Independence. Through Jamuna, this play explores the effect of war on women, their social life, and sexuality. Our aim is to draw attention to the ways in which women negotiate with their unique circumstances brought about by conflict situations- circumstances that often outlast the violent conflict. Survivors are often confronted with web of institutional and social silence. This is a story of how Jamuna transcends these boundaries and breaks this silence.
The show opens on 20 and 21 April 2012 (7.30 pm) at Pegasus Theatre, Oxford.
Tickets can be booked online (http://www.pegasustheatre.org.uk/shows/jamuna/) or on phone (01865 812150).
