We are delighted to welcome Daniel Geey, Partner at Sheridans and Kieran Maguire, University of Liverpool, to discuss football finances, football contracts and transfers.

Following the discussion there will be a Q&A. This will be a cutting edge discussion with two key football business experts who have recently published key books in the area. Daniel is the author of the acclaimed book Done Deal and Kieran the excellent book The Price of Football.

About the speakers

Daniel Geey is a Partner in the Sport Group at Sheridans. Daniel’s practice focuses on helping clients in the sports sector, including rights holders, leagues, governing bodies, clubs, agencies, athletes, sports technology companies, broadcasters and financial institutions. Daniel has significant experience in the football industry and has worked on a variety of club takeovers, high profile transfers, commercial endorsement deals and disputes. Daniel also works in the wider entertainment industry advising on competition and anti-trust matters.

Kieran Maguire lectures football finance at the University of Liverpool as both MBA and undergraduate level. He is a regular guest talking about football finance issues for media organisations as diverse as Forbes, BBC TV and Radio, The Financial Times and the Hull Daily Mail. He is the author of the Price of Football in relation to football finance and also is a co-host of the podcast of the same name with comedian and broadcaster Kevin Day. Kieran has also worked extensively at Canary Wharf and Wall Street with the investment banking industry.
