This interdisciplinary workshop, organised by Dr Mohammed (Senior Lecturer of Medical Microbiology and Co-course leader of Medical Sciences), will bring together researchers from diverse disciplines, alongside healthcare professionals, government representatives, policymakers, and other stakeholders. Together, we will explore key challenges and collaborate on innovative solutions to tackle superbugs (antibiotic-resistant bacteria), particularly among high-risk populations.
Superbugs are bacteria that have become resistant to antibiotics—the drugs used to treat them—and they represent a growing and often overlooked global threat: a “silent pandemic.” Superbugs can affect anyone, at any age, anywhere in the world. We all have a role to play in fighting superbugs. Regardless of your background or expertise, you are a superbug fighter - everyone can contribute.
Join us for an engaging afternoon of short talks and discussions to learn more about superbugs and contribute to shaping new approaches to combat them.
Tea, coffee, soft drinks, and light refreshments will be available throughout the workshop.
