The backs of two metropolitan policemen's uniform

About the event

What are the challenges of policing in a democratic country with a diverse population? What is, and what should be, the role of policing? Is the Metropolitan Police responsible for multicultural London facing a crisis? Over the last few years, confidence in the Metropolitan Police has decreased. High profile cases have negatively impacted the reputation of the MET.

Assistant Commissioner Louisa Rolfe will discuss some of the strategies and campaigns that are now in place to restore public confidence. She will also talk about a career in the police for students considering joining the force and hold a Q&A session for questions relating to MET campaigns to build trust and recruit graduate students.

If you are interested in knowing more about various initiatives taken by the Metropolitan Police to provide a better service to the diverse population of London, please join us.

AC Louisa began her career at Avon and Somerset Constabulary where, over 25 years, she rose from a neighbourhood police constable to become one of the country’s most senior officers. She joined West Midlands Police as deputy chief constable in February 2016, where she oversaw the force’s WMP2020 change programme, which featured 33 individual projects designed to make the force more agile when fighting crime and more accessible to the public.
