The panel will address the international law implications of the current Russian military intervention against Ukraine.

About this event

In response to the current armed conflict between Ukraine and Russia, the International Law at Westminster Research Group (ILaW) has convened a panel to discuss the international law issues arising from it.

Speakers will address the legality of Russia’s use of force from a variety of perspectives, namely the jus ad bellum, the characterisation of the conflict under international humanitarian law, the protection of civilians affected by the hostilities, and potential avenues of accountability for both individuals and states before international courts and tribunals.
