A workshop co-hosted by the Leverhulme International Research Network on Eco-city Frameworks

On 20 and 21 June 2014, representatives from both academia and practice are invited to discuss current topics of urban transformation during the traditional Denksalon in Görlitz, Germany.

The workshop is held by the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development and the Technische Universität Dresden.

The Denksalon is based on input statements from different disciplinary perspectives followed by roundtable discussions, which stimulates an intensive and open dialogue of all participants.

Without the common distance between speakers and the audience an open atmosphere is provided. Bringing knowledge and experiences of all participants together, is giving the opportunity to develop new ideas and perspectives for the urban future.

The Denksalon is part of a workshop series, carried out by the Leverhulme International Network “Tomorrow’s City Today“, led by the University of Westminster, UK (International Eco-Cities Initiative). The collaborative research initiative, which involves eight global partners, aims to compare and analyse conceptual, policy and practical approaches to urban sustainability through
various indicators, standards and frameworks.

Date: 20 and 21 June 2014
