We join with others around Europe and beyond to celebrate the European Day of Languages, an annual celebration of linguistic diversity initiated by the Council of Europe in collaboration with the European Commission.

Westminster is a vibrant multilingual community. In a survey conducted in 2023, we identified almost 200 languages and language varieties spoken by the 600+ students, academic and professional services colleagues, and other members of our community.
This year is the 25th anniversary of the European Day of Languages, and it's being celebrated with the motto ‘Languages open hearts and minds’.
