Wishing our community a blessed Yom Kippur

The University of Westminster wishes a meaningful Yom Kippur to all of our students, colleagues, alumni and friends who are observing.

Yom Kippur translates to ‘Day of Atonement’ and is considered to be the most important day in the Jewish calendar. Yom Kippur is the culmination of the ten days of repentance following Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year. It is commemorated with a 25-hour long fast.

The day begins at sunset on Wednesday 1 October and is observed until nightfall on Thursday 2 October.

Gmar Chatima Tova (meaning may you be sealed in the Book of Life) to all our students, colleagues, alumni and friends who are observing.
