Eid al-Fitr or Festival of Breaking the Fast is a religious celebration observed by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the month-long dawn to sunset observance of fasting, prayer, reflection and community.
Eid al-Fitr is usually marked by attending a morning prayer in one’s finest clothes, and it can last for up to three days depending on different cultures and countries.
In 2026, Eid al-Fitr is expected to fall on Friday, 20 March depending on the sighting of the moon, however some Muslims may begin celebrations a day later.
