Upgrading your Windows laptop or device to the latest version will help you to maintain smooth access to our systems – and support a secure digital environment for our entire Westminster community.

Have you upgraded your personal laptop or device to Windows 11?
Microsoft no longer supports devices running Windows 10, which means they won’t receive the latest security updates and could be vulnerable to cyber-attacks.
It also means that access to some University systems and software may be disrupted on devices that haven’t been updated. To avoid losing access to critical services, please ensure your device is running Windows 11.
How to upgrade your device
Upgrading is quick, easy and free. Simply follow this step-by-step guide to install Windows 11.
Before upgrading to the new version, please ensure that you have backed up any files and data stored on your device.
Do you need to borrow a laptop?
To support you with your studies, 24-hour short-term laptop loans are available from all our campuses. Long-term laptop loans may also be available for eligible students. Please check our laptop loan scheme page for more information.
