The University is proud to celebrate Pride Month, showing support and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion for all our community.

This year marks 50 years since the first Pride took place in the United Kingdom.

Westminster joined the festivities by changing the Regent campus flag to rainbow colours and displaying LGBTQ+ banners across each campus in honour of Pride Month.

The UWSU History and LGBTI student societies are running a collaborative Pride Month Movie Night on Friday 10 June at 8pm for all students who wish to attend and celebrate LGBTQ+ history.

On Monday 27 June, the University’s Q+ Network is organising a virtual panel discussion, entitled ‘Pride: Protest or Celebration?’, for anyone welcome to join the conversation.

To continue the festivities, the Network will also be hosting a Pride Celebration Breakfast at Regent Street Campus on 2 July, to coincide with the London Pride Parade. This event will be an opportunity to reflect upon the University’s own commitment to advance LGBTQ+ equality and to honour its rich (and often overlooked) LGBTQ+ heritage. The Network is also planning to have a Westminster contingent at London Trans Pride taking place on 9 July. Trans, non-binary and allies among students and colleagues are all welcome to join and can contact Pippa Catterall via [email protected] for further details.

This celebratory month reflects Westminster’s core values to show support and full commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion for all.

Grab your pin badges at each campuses’ reception throughout the month and join us in the celebration.
