Apply now for the opportunity to be part of an exciting urban design workshop in Rwanda in June.

About the project

With the support of the Quintin Hogg Trust, we are delighted to invite applications for a unique urban design project taking place over one week in Rwanda in early June 2024 (approximate dates of 1-9 June 2024, to be confirmed).

Successful applicants will be part of a small team from the University and will have the opportunity to contribute to the first phase of what could become a fully realised community in Rwanda in the future. The land is situated on the urban periphery of Rwanda’s capital, Kigali.

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 20 March 23:59 hours.

Who can apply?

While priority will be given to postgraduate students in the School of Architecture and Cities, any postgraduate student can apply for this opportunity.

We strongly encourage candidates of all different backgrounds and identities to apply.

What students will gain

Students will get the opportunity to develop their international sustainability, development, planning and master planning skills. Students will also engage with local stakeholders in Rwanda on a project that has clear sustainable development outcomes and real-world implications.

Full details can be found in the downloadable application form.
