Estates Planning and Services and People, Culture and Wellbeing are proud to announce the rollout of the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme.

The Sunflower Lanyard is a discreet way for individuals with non-visible (hidden) disabilities to indicate that they may need additional support, understanding, or time. Disabilities such as autism, chronic pain, hearing loss, anxiety, dementia, and many other conditions may not be immediately apparent - but they can significantly impact a person’s daily experience.
By introducing sunflower lanyards, we are reaffirming our commitment to creating an inclusive, accessible, and compassionate environment for everyone - colleagues, students and visitors. Small actions can make a meaningful difference and together, we can help ensure everyone feels seen, respected, and supported.
What this means:
- Individuals can choose to wear a Sunflower lanyard if they would benefit from an offer of support, understanding, extra-time and kindness.
- Wearing the Sunflower is entirely voluntary and does not require disclosure of personal information.
Where can I collect a lanyard
Sunflower lanyards can be obtained from one of the four main campus receptions.
