From Monday 5 February onwards, students across the University will receive check-in calls from peer student callers to ensure you are settling into the new semester and to provide any advice you may need.  

It is part of the ongoing Student Check-in call programme which started last semester, and continues from 5 February to 28 March 2024. Calls are led by the Students’ Union, in partnership with the University. 

During this period, you may receive a phone call from a fellow student caller who has been trained to help with any questions and signpost you to the many support services and opportunities available at the University. After the phone call, you will also receive a handy email with a record of some of the services discussed. 

The call will take no longer than 10 minutes and if you miss it or if it isn’t a good time to speak, you will have the opportunity to call back and leave a message to arrange for a better time. 

These phone calls are a platform for you to ask any questions, voice any concerns, and ensure you are having a good experience while studying at Westminster.  

The Student Check-in call campaign was launched back in October for the start of semester one. Some of the students, who received calls in the last few months, said: 

        It was great to know that I was cared for and that my opinion mattered. I felt a sense of belonging.” 

        The call led me to further information about the student societies and provided me with information that I didn't know much about, such as the community organisers.” 

        The call made me feel appreciated and remembered.” 

        Having a call from a student to check on how I was doing made me feel very welcomed.” 

       Thank you to the callers for being kind and non-judgemental!”
