‘Our World: Who We Are [Celebrating Pride]’ is a multidisciplinary group exhibition exploring LGBTQ+ identity and experience through the work of four student artists.

The group exhibition includes pieces of work from four different artists: Reuben George, Ed Horne, Levi Ocean and Mia Evans. It showcases LGBTQ+ expression through mediums of Photography, illustration, Painting, films and digital fashion-collage. ‘Our World: Who We Are’ opened with an exuberant private viewing on Wednesday 2 July, just days before London’s Pride Parade.
The opening was a celebration of Queerness and Transgender Identity, highlighting the importance of sharing Transgender and Queer experiences and stories during a time of political subordination against the Transgender community in the UK.
The Gallery Coffee Shop is a student focused gallery produced by the University of Westminster on the Regent Street campus, open to the public. It provides students the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work with 100 percent of the profits going back to the student.
It not only gives students a platform to display and sell their work, but it also gives students the opportunity to gain work experience managing the operational and artistic aspect of bringing the exhibition to life.
Mia Evans, one of the artists and curator of the exhibition said: “As a Transgender artist and curator, this exhibition is so vitally important to me. I want to share authentic stories about Trans and Queer existence, that are radical, educating and promote change. When working within an institution it may be easy to produce a pink-washed celebration of Pride, that does not uplift individual stories, overshadowed by compulsory pride flags. That is what I wanted to avoid, and I feel that we successfully have!”
Other student artists said about the exhibition:
Levi Ocean: “Exhibiting in the gallery café was a really special experience. It meant a lot to be part of a space that celebrated queer voices, and to connect with other artists exploring similar themes in their work. There was a real sense of community and shared purpose, which made the opportunity even more meaningful.”
Reuben George: 'It was a great opportunity to show work in an exhibition that centred on authentic queer stories during pride month. Being part of a show that shares real lived experiences through art is important.”
Ed Horne: ''Presenting such an important piece in the gallery coffee shop means a lot to me, it allowed me to not only express myself as a photographer, but also to showcase my feelings. Having the opportunity to showcase my work on Regent Street means the world, and I'm so grateful for it!”
The exhibition is currently open until Friday 26 September 2025, from Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm at the Gallery Coffee Shop on the University of Westminster’s Regent Campus.
