Internship positions at the United Nations Migration Agency (also known as the International Organization for Migration - IOM) are now available for Level 5, Level 6 and Master students at Westminster to apply for.

These opportunities are exclusive to the University of Westminster students thanks to a collaboration agreement signed between the University and the United Nations Migration Agency in 2022.

About the internships

Ten internship positions are currently available to L5, L6 and Master students from The University of Westminster. Each internship is located in a different country and has its own specific duration and learning objectives and responsibilities.

This year’s internships are based in a variety of exciting locations which offer the chance to explore working at the headquarters of a UN agency (e.g. Switzerland) or immerse in field country offices (e.g. Mozambique, Laos, Bangladesh, Burundi, Kenya).

The positions are full time, and their durations range from 6-9 months depending on the specific post, with the start dates in May 2023. The exact start date will be discussed between each country office and the successful candidate.

The University of Westminster will finance a large portion of the cost of the internship to assist with flight and living expenses. Successful candidates will be contacted by the Student Mobility team and guided through the funding process.

How to apply

Applications deadline is end of day, Friday 20 January 2022.

To apply, interested students are required to share a CV and a cover letter for the internship positions they would like to apply for which will then be forwarded to IOM for review, shortlisting and interviews.
