The Work Based and Placement Learning (WBPL) Project equips you with the right skills and experience to compete in today’s graduate labour market and secure a highly skilled graduate role. Research shows that graduates are much more likely to secure highly skilled graduate-level jobs upon leaving university if they have participated in some form of work-based learning or placement. Not only does this increase confidence levels and employability skills in students, but it also enables employers to select graduates with real work experience in a professional setting.

The WBPL project was born out of the University of Westminster’s fervent commitment to ensuring that all Westminster Students and Graduates gain valuable employability skills and experience that will set you apart from other graduates when applying for work or further study.

The project is currently being rolled out across all main undergraduate courses and is due for completion by 2025. As part of your course, you may be asked to complete 35 hours of work based and placement learning activities and have the option of participating in a professional placement year or study abroad opportunity.
