About the speakers
Nuria Revuelta, Founder of The Dyás, Fashion Business Management MA, 2021
Nuria Revuelta is the founder of The Dyás, a London-based fashion brand turning art into wearable pieces, responsibly. Constantly striving to improve the ethics and sustainability of the way she produces and sells her clothing, Nuria has prioritised collaboration with artists and local garment makers and the use of low impact materials from The Dyás' beginning.
The Dyás is now stocked by Garmentory and Wolf & Badger, sold by Anthropologie in the US, and has products on display at the Design Museum in London. Nuria has used pop-up locations, gallery exhibitions and global artist collaborations to showcase her brand and extend its reachand hopes that her success inspires others to continue to create a more responsible fashion industry.
In addition to managing The Dyás, Nuria extends her knowledge and expertise by teaching digital marketing at the Fashion Retail Academy.
Carmen Marleen Schliesser, Founder of 720Impact, Study Abroad Semester, undergraduate credits, 2022
Carmen is a first-generation graduate and Laidlaw and Zonta scholar, currently pursuing her Master’s in Management at London Business School. A serial founder since the age of 18, she went on to build two profitable, five-figure ventures in the retail and consulting industry. With her company 720Impact, she has consulted over 15 international startups during their growth and funding stages, managing six-figure project budgets. As part of her work, she empowers other female entrepreneurs through pro bono consulting. Her efforts have been recognized through a nomination for the Recent Graduate Award by the University of Westminster.
Carmen advocates for equity and diversity as Chair of the Student Philanthropy Council at LBS and mentor for African startups at the Westerwelle Foundation. In addition, she is part of the Executive Committee of the Social Impact Club where she supports students in becoming responsible business leaders. Previously, she initiated a fundraising project for Save the Children, and contributed to the research efforts in the field of social inclusion to the Freudenberg Foundation. Most recently, she’s been nominated for the Alumni Council Honors List at London Business School.
Nicole Henworth, Community Impact Manager at Tooting Works, International Business and Management MA, 2016
Nicole is currently a Community Impact Manager in the heart of South London. After completing her MA in International Business she began her career in the beauty sector. In the midst of the pandemic she transitioned her career into something more purposeful, starting an entry role for a business centre and youth charity.
In 2022 she finished managing a £150,000 youth programme funded by the Greater London Authority and supported by the Mayor of London. In 2023 she began her role as Community Impact Manager, leading on social impact, collaborations & partnerships, launching and managing the brand new community hub.
With an English Italian father and an Indian Caribbean mother, Nicole has a passion for the cultures and heritage that construct the diverse society we live in. Every week she volunteers at the local food bank, meeting with community elders, supporting those most vulnerable. People are the heartbeat of communities so in trying to make a big difference, don’t overlook the small acts at play.
