This conversation will reflect on insights from a collaborative process aimed at creating a research-informed animated video on the gendered and racialised violence of the UK immigration detention regime.

Through this process, research evidence has been complemented by the insights provided by team members with lived experience of detention or of working in solidarity with those detained. By connecting researchers, experts by experience, and community-based advocates and artists, this project intends to contribute to decolonising academia by providing a tool for disseminating complex insights, raising critical awareness of contemporary systems of violence, and advancing transformative changes.
