Four people meditating

This half-an-hour mindfulness session, running as part of University Mental Health Day, is for all students who would like to begin exploring or continue improving their skills of awareness in relating with all of life experience while studying at University.

This will involve a meditative practice. It is spiritual, though not aligned with any faith tradition. This is fully explained, then through a guided introduction we spend a period of time in silence during which ideas and imagery may form, with a range of relevance to the focus. We gently return to the group, share observations and ask any questions that arise.

The session will be run by Yusuf Kaplan, Interfaith Adviser, who has practised meditation since childhood. He has provided spiritual advice, supervision and training in a professional capacity for many years to a range of clients as individuals and groups. Also, with an eclectic background he is very capable facilitating others in creative application and passing through unconscious resistances to a new sense of awareness.
