Disrupting your everyday

You are invited to our Christmas Disruptive event. In one hour over lunchtime on 15 December, we'll gather to listen to some songs that are connected to the University. These will be accompanied by some commentary and images.

If enough people sign up, the event will take place in our beautiful Regent Street cinema. So please do register if you’re interested in attending and keep an eye on this page for a confirmed location nearer the time.

About the event

The first ‘Disruptive’ event took place in December 2020 during lockdown. During this period, we delivered events that promised to ‘disrupt your everyday’. We ran three ghost gigs, the premiere of the play Dance, an online reading of Barrie Keeffe’s play SUS, online creative writing workshops for vulnerable people at the charity Open Age, and more.

Drawing on our idea of ghost gigs, the Christmas Disruption event is a replay of what we hosted in December 2020. Though this time, we’re able to deliver the event in person – in a beautiful space.

To whet your appetites you can expect Stewart Lee, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Fingerbobs, famous hairdressers, Andrew Weatherall (RIP), Mimi Parker (RIP), local heroes, rooftop photos and the answer to whether Bing Crosby played the Poly - and more - all in one hour.

Disrupt your day with culture! It’s Christmas time, there’s no need to be afraid.
