Resilience is the ability to bounce back from setbacks. It is both the capacity to handle difficult times and the ability to respond flexibly. Many factors influence a person’s ability to cope with stressors and challenges, including our environment and the ability to adapt positively.

However, some may have experienced stressors beyond their control that impact their ability to cope. This workshop will use strategies from cognitive behavioural theory (CBT) to explore how to build resilience and ways to cope with setbacks. Specifically, it will discuss:

  • The importance of resilience
  • Confidence and self-esteem in dealing with setbacks
  • Strategies and skills to build resilience
