Weekly classes in mindfulness meditation in the Thai Buddhist tradition will be held every Thursday evening this semester.
Mindfulness of breathing is a traditional Buddhist meditation practice. Through its regular practice, our minds can experience greater states of calm (known as 'samatha') and a sense of freedom in daily life. Individual and group instruction in this practice is given by The Samatha Trust. No charge is made for the teaching.
The class runs every Thursday; you may start to attend any week.
Complete beginners are welcome; no previous experience is required. Please come to the Regent Street Quiet Room B29 for 7.30pm for your half hour introduction.
Those with previous experience of Samatha meditation are welcome to continue their practice with the group at the usual time of 8pm. Again, meet in B29.
All are welcome, staff or students and anyone coming from outside the university. There is no need to book a place.
