About the festival

We are delighted to invite you to the Festival of Decolonial Learning at the University, which is taking place between 14-16 June.

The Festival will bring people together to learn about how we build decolonial and anti-racist atmospheres in our higher education learning and teaching spaces. Through learning and practising together, we hope to create some decolonial joy and wrestle with challenging questions.

The Festival is organised as part of the Pedagogies for Social Justice Project. We are really lucky to be joined by decolonial and anti-racist activists, academics, students and community groups from across the UK, Australia and Canada who will facilitate workshops and interactive sessions over the three days.

The Festival is open to Westminster students, colleagues, and any members of the public who would like to come and learn with us. You can expect to engage with decoloniality from different perspectives, contexts and disciplines while having the chance to connect with other activists and communities. We know that everyone has different levels of knowledge and experience, and everyone who wants to learn and contribute is welcome. We hope that you can join us and that we can discover new ways of thinking and being at the University.

Schedule and location

There will be three sessions taking place each day at the following times and locations:

  • 1–3pm: Marleybone Campus
  • 4–6pm: Marleybone Campus
  • 7–9pm: Little Titchfield Street
