Ever wondered about the history of Black people in London?
One starting point is a visit to the National Portrait Gallery next to Trafalgar Square. This visit will cover 500 years of the history of Black people in London, including John Blanke, one of Henry VIII's trumpeters; the Black Queen of England; Trevor McDonald; and Claudia Jones - to name just a few.
We will meet in the foyer of our Regent campus (a short walk from Oxford Circus tube station) and catch a bus down to Trafalgar Square. We will return by bus for tea, coffee and cake at Regent campus.
This tour will include a visit to the National Portrait Gallery so please check their accessibility page if needed.
Please note we cannot cover the cost of the bus, but the refreshments afterwards will be complimentary.
