This celebrates the achievements of higher education institutions in ensuring their undergraduates are ready to achieve their potential in their transition to employment, providing them with a range of skills beyond academic success.

Westminster’s employability team dedicates an entire month to employability activities each year to support students’ career opportunities. It was shortlisted for the Best University Careers Service in the National Undergraduate Employment Awards in 2016 and 2017.

With support from Santander Universities UK, the Westminster Employability Award is an award programme that supports students’ career development and formally recognises their experience and skills during their time at University.

Monica Deshpande, Head of Employability and Inclusivity at the University, said: “I am delighted that Westminster has been shortlisted at the TARGETjobs Awards. It’s great to see our focus on employability and our strategy for supporting students valued and recognised beyond Westminster. We’re keeping our fingers and toes crossed for the awards night!”

Entries are reviewed and judged independently by graduate employers, with the shortlist released earlier this year and the winner announced at the TARGETjobs Awards ceremony on 4 April 2019. The prestigious event is the largest early careers recruitment awards in the UK.
