Westminster students spent an impressive 30,000 hours of volunteering during the course of the 2012/13 academic year.

Whilst the majority (70%) cited the need to make a difference as their primary motivation, other equally motivating factors included skills development, work experience and making new friends.

Of the 269 students that took part in volunteering the majority came from SSHL and WBS with an average of 30 students coming from the other schools. Students undertook a diverse range of volunteering activities including events management, teaching, counselling, research, campaigning, fundraising and sport, just to mention a few. For detailed information into this year’s achievements, please download our report.

We have also compiled a few case studies to put the numbers in context, some of which are truly inspiring.
