Competing with the best fashion design graduates from across the country, the two presented their final year collections to juries of leading industry professionals.
At Warehouse, Daisy will be able to follow the whole production process of her collection, from her designs to its sales across Warehouse stores.
Jessica’s childrenswear designs shared the first place in the Harrods annual graduate competition and earned her a paid internship at the prestigious retailer.
Marigay McKee, Director of Fashion and Beauty, Harrods, said ‘“I am thrilled that through this new initiative in partnership with the BFC, Harrods will offer graduates the opportunity to experience the fashion business first hand. Both of the finalist's presentations perfectly captured the Harrods customer, showing different strengths.”
“We are thrilled that Westminster students have been recognised for their outstanding design work by both Harrods and Warehouse. Both Jessica and Daisy are a testament to the course’s success at developing strong creative individuals that are capable of working for a wide variety of design companies,” said Andrew Groves, BA Honours Fashion Design course leader at the University of Westminster.
This year’s graduates from the course have already been highly successful in gaining employment since graduating in June. They are now working for a number of prestigious fashion companies including Burberry, Aitor Throup, Mulberry, Harrods and Vivienne Westwood.
Two of this year’s graduates were also selected by Abercrombie & Fitch to go to America and work at their design headquarters in Ohio.
