On 21 June Westminster Business School is hosting Women in Tech: Inspiring the Next Generation, a free event as part of London Technology Week featuring a panel of high profile women from a variety of business sectors.

The event is organised by #CodingAllowed, a technology recruitment specialist set up by Nicoll Curtin, which aims to attract more women into technology-related careers.

Women in Tech will feature a panel discussion with influential female technologists together with a screening of extracts from the award winning documentary CODE – Debugging the Gender Gap.

Both parts of the event will explore the reasons for the existing gender gap in the technology sector and discuss how we can inspire the next generation of women in tech. They will also raise the question of what there is to be gained from a more diverse technology sector.

The Panellists have been carefully selected to represent a mix of industries to enable them to offer different perspectives on common issues faced by women across the technology industry.

The panellists will be Anjali Ramachandran, Co-Founder of Ada’s List; Chimeren Peerbhai, Founder of virtual reality start-up VersaStyle and Westminster Business School MBA alumna; Radhika Chadwick, Partner and Lead for Digital Advisory practice at EY; and Shannon Walker, Head of Data Architecture at Deutsche Bank. The panel will be chaired by Dr Ruth Sacks, Business Development Director at Westminster Business School, where she initiated and runs the acclaimed Women for the Board Programme.

The discussion and screening will be followed by a networking event and drinks reception giving all attendees the opportunity to meet with each other and the panellists, furthering their industry contacts.
