In 2011 VOLA UK began sponsoring a series of student prizes on the University of Westminster’s Interior Architecture BA Honours course. In June each year, three annual prizes are awarded to students from the course: a prize for the students with the best portfolios in year one, year two and year three.
In June this year, the three prizes for 2012 were presented at a special awards evening during the Open 2012 end of year show held in the Architecture studios at the University’s Marylebone campus. We are delighted that the student work from this show is now on display in the VOLA Studio to celebrate Fitzrovia Now, which is part of the London Design Festival 2012.
Chris Brandon of Pringle Brandon Perkins+Will has been chair of the judging panel for the prize since its inauguration and says:
"The VOLA prizes enable us to recognise and reward the talent and potential of Westminster’s Interior Architecture students and I have been consistently impressed by the skills demonstrated in the portfolios put forward by each cohort. I am delighted to be involved in an award that will help their professional careers flourish".
