Taking place on 16 September 2021 and open to undergraduate and postgraduate students, alongside anyone with a relevant background in health and nutrition, the virtual conference is being hosted by Dr Ayaz Safi, Lecturer and Co-Course Leader for MSc Sport and Exercise Nutrition, a group of experienced students, and the Centre for Nutraceuticals at Westminster.

The conference will focus on three main themes: nutrition, performance, health and wellbeing. It will provide a platform for undergraduates, postgraduates and professionals to share their academic skills, experience, projects and research ideas with likeminded individuals.

The conference aims to bridge the gap between students and experts by allowing them to apply their work in a professional world and also gain experience in networking, event management, and developing presentation skills.

Those attending will also be given the opportunity to learn through first-hand experience what it is like to undertake a Master’s or PhD, alongside discussing academic experiences and projects amongst those with similar interests.

Participants will be able to join this conference from across the world and it will showcase the BSc and MSc Nutrition and Exercise courses at Westminster making it a perfect opportunity for prospective students as well.

Talking about the conference, Dr Ayaz Safi, said: “There are a number of nutrition and well-being conferences held every year, with the latest research and topics discussed by well-known and highly esteemed professionals in the industry. But sometimes that can feel daunting or overwhelming to students, both undergraduate and postgraduate alike.

“This is why we are hosting a conference to shine the spotlight on the students and provide a place to share their research. This could be an opportunity for students and professionals to share papers, engage with each other and maybe find their next employer or sponsor.”
