Named the most internationally diverse university in the UK in the Hotcourses Diversity Index (HDI), the University of Westminster is backing the #WeAreInternational social media campaign that has set out to draw attention to the UK Higher Education sector’s commitment to international students.

As part of #WeAreInternational, the University will be setting its own World Week between 24-28 October celebrating our international staff, students and engagement with the world. Interesting and informative facts about how #WeAreInternational will be posted on the University’s Twitter and Facebook accounts throughout the week.

Joining the #WeAreInternational comes after the University launched its hugely popular #WestminsterWelcomesEU campaign earlier this year following the UK’s Brexit result, to welcome all students and colleagues from Europe now and in the future.

Westminster is proud of its student body currently comprising over 160 nationalities including over 6,000 international students, and 30 per cent of our staff members come from outside the UK.

The UK has the highest international student experience satisfaction ratings for English-speaking countries, according to Universities UK. The University of Westminster has been ranked at 118 for International Outlook across all universities worldwide by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

The University’s international outlook is supported by international partnerships across the world, by our globally engaged research and by offering a wide range of international opportunities for Westminster students including the international exchange and outward mobility programmes. The University is creating a truly global experience for all, for example by the help of its Distant Horizon Awards which finances international travel for our UK undergraduate students who wish to take part in academic or career-related events or activities overseas but who may not have the financial capability to do so.

The University of Westminster respects and values diversity within its staff and student community, to promote equality of opportunity, and to challenge and strive to eliminate unlawful discrimination.
