Dr Nick Barratt, CEO of Sticks Research Agency - the company responsible for the research used in the BBC programme Who Do You Think You Are? visited the Westminster History Society.

Dr Barratt, author of several books on genealogy, emphasised the importance of thorough research and argued that social and family history was a great way for everyone to "do history from below".

To conclude Dr Barratt suggested because the current [younger] generation were not known for letter writing or diarying keeping, what evidence would they leave behind for descendants and historians of the future?

Could this be the end of history as we know it?
