The Student Loan Company is warning students of an email phishing scam that is attempting to steal personal, security and banking details.

The phishing scam affects home and EU students and falsely uses the company name to send emails asking to 'validate your account' or provide any personal, security or banking details. The Student Loan Company will never request for you to confirm information in this way, and any emails of this sort should be ignored.

These types of scams are particularly common around student finance payment dates, as is the case now. If you believe you have responded to a phishing email, you must change your account password and forward the phishing email to [email protected].
