It’s Social Media Week this week, raising worldwide awareness of the impact of social media and how it helps communities and individuals learn and share ideas and information.

At Westminster, we are investing in the use of use of digital tools in the running of our business, and the delivery of teaching and learning. We provide access to a range of tools to enable the University's staff and student community to interact, engage and work together effectively.

Digital tools aren’t just key to teaching and learning while studying at Westminster. Skills in digital literacy can also improve your chances of landing a job after graduation.

We are currently working on a JISC-funded research project, ‘DigitISE’, which is exploring the role digital literacy plays in improving students’ employability.

The project is also hosting the ‘Get the Digital Edge’ event on 21 March at Marylebone. You are welcome to come along to find out how to use digital skills to get a job, and what to be aware of while in the world of work.

Throughout the year the student IT training team and the Academic Liaison Team offer free courses and training on using digital tools and software to support your studies and job searches.
