The Citation and Referencing Advisory Group within the Academic Liaison Librarian team has revised the University's Referencing Your Work guide.

The guide can be viewed on the Referencing your work page.

Our aim in revising the guide was to make it more student-friendly by simplifying the reference elements (removing unnecessary punctuation) and by improving the consistency of referencing across the different document types, including audio visual, online and social media formats. It should be much easier for you to understand how to apply the style to a range of document types, using the given examples.

We have also created a file for the Westminster Harvard referencing style and placed it in the open source citation language style (CSL) library maintained by Zotero. This means that the file can be installed in reference managers which are open source, such as Mendeley and Zotero. Again, this will assist you in creating consistent bibliographies for your written work.

Download the CSL file.

We hope that you will find this revision of the guide and the CSL file useful.
