Postdoctoral teaching and research fellowships x3
(Two years fixed term, starting 1 August 2012)

University of Westminster flag

The School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Languages wishes to consolidate its excellent teaching and research portfolio and to support the development of early career researchers. Three Postdoctoral Teaching & Research Fellowships will be available from the start of the academic year 2012/13 (1 August 2012), one each in the Department of English, Linguistics and Cultural Studies; the Department of Politics and International Relations; and the Department of Psychology. The full-time fellowships are time limited, for two years, with no possibility of extension.

The fellowships, which are suitable for recent doctoral graduates (PhD award within the last 18 months), entail both a substantial element of teaching and a programme of postdoctoral research activities. The Departments and School will provide mentoring in support of teaching and researcher development. However, successful candidates will need to be able to demonstrate some existing teaching experience, and will be expected to deliver teaching and assessment independently as part of a course team. Candidates will also need to be able to demonstrate a strong record of research at early career researcher level, including research outputs (normally at least 1-2 peer-reviewed publications). The Fellows will be considered as part of the University’s submission to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014.

If you wish to discuss the posts informally, please contact the Heads of Departments as follows:
