Rob Garvey, Senior Lecturer in Westminster’s Department of Property and Construction, has been highly commended in the CIOB International Innovation and Research Awards 2013, in the Innovation in Education & Training Award category.

This award recognises outstanding contribution to education and training in the built environment.

The project recognised by the award was Project Intermission, led by Rob Garvey and members of the Department of Property and Construction at Westminster, with input from industry practitioners. During Project Intermission, Westminster students from various built environment disciplines worked collaboratively on a ‘real’ project for a ‘real’ client, using cutting-edge Building Information Modelling (BIM) technologies. BIM technologies enable the creation of a building/facility to be modelled in a common data environment.
