Professor Marco Roscini from Westminster Law School has been awarded an additional €23,000 grant by the Fritz Thyssen Foundation to fund the third year of his research project on International Law and Foreign Intervention in Civil Wars.

The new grant adds up to the one previously awarded to Marco Roscini by the Thyssen Foundation for the same project, bringing the total amount to €76,900.

The research project looks at the legality of foreign intervention in civil wars, whether that is in support of the government or an opposition party. The three-year project started in January 2017 and will end in December 2019.

Marco Roscini says he is delighted that the Fritz Thyssen Foundation recognised the significance of this research project by deciding to fund it for an additional year.

Professor Marco Roscini has widely published in the area of international security law. His most recent book, Cyber Operations and the Use of Force in International Law, was published by Oxford University Press in 2014.
