Dr Jonathan Wilson, an MA Marketing graduate from Westminster Business School, has released his new book Essentials of Business Research: A Guide to Doing Your Research Project, with Sage Publications.

The book is a valuable resource for any student in a Business School doing a Research Methods course or doing a Research Project (Dissertation).  It is designed as a concise, student-friendly text that cuts through the jargon of research methods terminology to present a clear guide to the basics of methodology in a business and management context.

Now an academic at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, Jonathan explains his motivation for writing the book: “Many students have commented to me that they would like to see a more concise research methods textbook. Ideally, something that contains essential cases and concepts, as opposed to a wide range of both business and student examples. In addition, students are often interested in the experiences of other students and the role of the dissertation supervisor. Therefore, this book aims to guide the student through the entire research process by using actual student case examples and explaining the role of the supervisor and how to meet their expectations. In some institutions the supervisor is also the first marker of the dissertation, so it is important for students to understand how to use their supervisor effectively as well as recognise the criteria they may use when marking the dissertation”.
